A Journey of Personal Transformation
If you had asked me just two years ago where I would be in this moment, I would have laughed at you. The woman I've become today, confidently posting pictures of myself, going live on Instagram, and even considering starting a podcast, is a far cry from the person I once was.
For those who have been following my journey, you know that I’ve always been passionate about writing. The dream of writing a book has been a constant presence in my mind. So, with my marketing degree in hand, I decided to start with a blog. My hope was to attract a small group of fans who might one day become readers of my book. And that's how Mummaste came into existence - first on Instagram and later with a website.
Mummaste was created as a community for mums like me who are navigating the challenging world of raising tweens and teens. They say that often we create the things we need the most, and that rings true for Mummaste. Two years ago, as my own children entered their teens, I was hit with a wave of overwhelming emotions. Perhaps I should have expected the rollercoaster ride of teenagers testing boundaries and seeking independence, because as far as my parents were concerned, I was very good at both, but truth be told, I was not prepared at all. And to be honest, I'm still learning every day.
It quickly became apparent that Mummaste as a brand wouldn't gain much traction without a face behind it. Reluctantly, I started showing up, stepping out of my comfort zone, and becoming more visible. Just like a muscle, visibility grew easier with time and practice.
As I immersed myself in the world of blogs and books, I came across incredible individuals who had blazed their own trails. Melissa Ambrosini became a huge source of inspiration for me. I discovered that she had also studied coaching, and it was like a lightbulb moment for me. Coaching had been a natural part of my life for years, as I found myself constantly engaging in deep and meaningful conversations with friends and family. Give me a heart-to-heart talk any day over a regular chit-chat!
Driven by my newfound passion for coaching, I pursued formal training and recognised the opportunity to make a living through writing, creating, inspiring, and coaching others. I was hooked on this fulfilling path.
Embracing Worth, Wealth and Well-being
Around a year later, as my private coaching clientele grew, I made the bold decision to resign from my 25-year corporate career. Simultaneously, I launched a group coaching program called Break the Busy Cycle and Claim Calm. It was a lesson I needed myself, and it resonated with countless women who joined the program.
But I wasn't done yet. Drawing on over a decade of experience in banking and finance, as well as a lifetime of family budgeting, I created the Wealth Mastery group coaching program. This program not only supported numerous women in their journey to financial freedom but also allowed me to take my own wealth creation to the next level.
As the pandemic gradually faded and the world started to reopen, my passion for travel resurfaced. I've loved sharing the tool I've used to afford traveling the world - the Holiday Hero Budget Planner. It’s been incredibly rewarding to help others experience the joy of travel without financial stress.
Reflecting on this remarkable journey, I still pinch myself daily, amazed at how my life has unfolded and how worthy I've felt to step out of my comfort zone and create a reality beyond my wildest dreams. This year, I embraced a new chapter by stepping away from the Mummaste brand and proudly revealing myself (or come out of the closet, as I like to say) as Emma Lagerlow, Holistic Wealth and Mindset Coach.
